Description
Aloeswood is the only incense we use around tea and teaware, since the scent does not linger to strongly in the air or cling to ceramics. Aloeswood (Aquilaria agallocha) is highly regarded in traditional Taoist medicine for calming the spirit, opening the heart, and harmonizing digestion. It is said that this wood helps induce a meditative state and carry prayers to heaven.
Aloeswood calms the spirit and mind, creating an ideal setting for tea sessions. Generally, we use aloeswood as opposed to other incense around teaware and tea because it doesn't cling to the items, thus influencing the flavor. We recommend breaking off small 1 inch pieces and dropping them onto a bed of ash in the bottom of an incense censer.
