Brilliance
Aged Dian Hong Red Tea 2012
Description
Aged since 2012 from roughly 100 year old trees, Brilliance embodies many of the qualities we look for in a nice Dian Hong. Malty, thick, rich and robust, the brisk brew produces a strong, settling energy, perhaps from the old trees. Dian Hong translates to “Yunnan Red Tea,” from the aboriginal term. When most people think of Yunnan, they think of Puerh, but in fact more red and green tea were produced throughout the 1900’s. Dian Hong tea leaves are sun-dried and not fired, allowing the biodiversity that informs the trees to affect the final tea. This may be one of the reason that many people who enjoy Puerh also prefer Dian Hong to other types of red tea.
