Discover the rich world of Puerh tea with Living Tea founder Colin Hudon. Each month, Colin carefully curates a Puerh tea that exemplifies the qualities of a Living Tea, showcasing teas at their peak flavor or offering early access to rare, exceptional new finds.
Subscribers can look forward to receiving 50-100g of expertly sourced Puerh tea per month, either a Shou (ripe) or Sheng (raw) Puerh, depending on the season.
The darkness, depth, richness, energetics and fermentation of the tea for each month will vary, depending on the season. Generally, more grounding, calming and dark Puerh will feature during the Fall and Winter, while the Spring and Summer will see younger sheng puerh, sweeter, lighter, uplifting teas, puerh bud tip teas, and teas that support the energetic seasonal transitions.
How does the subscription work?

- Subscriptions ship on the 15th of each month. Members who join between the 1st and the 15th will receive the upcoming selection as their first shipment, dispatched on the 15th. Members who join between the 15th and the end of the month will receive the current selection as their first shipment immediately upon sign-up. Subsequent orders will be shipped on the 15th of each month.
- Your original method of payment is then automatically charged monthly.

February’s selection is a beloved favorite from the 2024 Autumn Seasonal Tea Club, cherished by both our community and Living Tea founder Colin Hudon. This tea beautifully embodies the subtle shift of emerging from deep winter, offering a grounding yet gently uplifting experience. Its warming, earthy notes are perfectly balanced with hints of sweetness and a soft, invigorating energy—making it the ideal companion as we transition toward the light and renewal of the coming Spring.
March's Puerh
Emergence
Small-Batch Ripe Puerh, 2020
Working with a couple in Yunnan who travel by motorcycle to different villages throughout the year to sample different harvests, we particularly liked this 2020 loose leaf shou from Menghai. Emergence comes from trees that are roughly 30 years old and the flavor is consistent with most shou puerh from Menghai: rich, deep and layered flavors. The medium level of fermentation leaves a clean, clear taste that speaks to the emergence of clarity in the Spring. The tea is gently uplifting and moves through the whole body.

Big Leaf Shou Puerh, 1980's
Truth be told, we don't know a ton about this tea. It was wet-stored in Hong Kong since the late 80's and made its way to a private collection in Taipei. It's just damn good aged puerh with strong, deep yin energy. Flavors of skinless almonds, wet earth and chocolate come through an oily, smooth body. Earthy and elegant. There's also this incredible, subtle floral note that you don't see much in aged shou puerh. Try and find it. The tea was quite expensive, so this month is only 1.5 oz, but we'll have some leftover for those of you that want to order more. We're thrilled with this tea and hope you are too.

6-month pre-paid subscriptions: No, pre-paid subscriptions are a one-time purchase. You will receive email confirmation when the subsequent installments are ready to ship, but your original method of payment will not be charged.

Tea subscriptions are my favourite. I have both the seasonal and the puerh subscriptions. Over the last few months, I've become a huge fan of Puerh, and this subscription is wonderful. Puerh always grounds me and helps during stressful times. I've been subscribed since the very first month and don't regret it at all —I especially love the February tea. I love the quality.
As a long-time Puerh drinker, I was a bit suspect. I have to say though, every tea I've received thus far has exceeded my expectations. I especially love that the teas will shift each month with seasonal changes, which gives me an opportunity to try teas that I probably wouldn't otherwise explore.
