Description
Fresh, heady and opulent, this is my favorite Oolong in the last couple years. The trees are old and wild, producing a small quantity each year. While most Northern Taiwanese teas are striped oolongs, similar to their "ancestors" in Northern Fujian, Sibylline Flush is processed as a balled oolong. I believe the varietal is Si Ji Chun (4 Seasons), and this hearty varietal yields a strong Oolong that's incredibly patient. The mid-roast is balanced by a floral explosion with flavors of green stems, creamy rose and blooming lilac. The flavors linger throughout the mouth between steepings and it's such a pleasant sensory experience, it transports you to another world, hence the name Sibylline Flush. As we enter the warmer months, we'll be drinking this tea very frequently. It's just next-level awesome tea that belongs in any Oolong lover's cabinet.
